Statistics of Bleeding Disorders Patients in TexaS
In Texas, there are an estimated 3,200 people living with hemophilia and another 315,000 living with von Willebrand Disease (vWD). Many of these are undiagnosed.
Not everyone is under the care of a Hemophilia Treatment Center. HTCs provide the best care for people with bleeding disorders, because of their comprehensive care model.
vWD is the most common bleeding disorder and many people, especially women, go undiagnosed for many years.
